Pictures of Kuching! And Sarawak Cultural Village. Scroll down, you silly bored-faces :)
Fancy a tour around Kuching? Haha.
I'm now a certified tour guide, man. After getting lost and making big rounds round and around Kuching, I now know all the little roads in Kuching!! muahahaha! Told ya I have a bad sense of direction.
Anyway, it was a tiring, hectic, absolutely entirely exhausting, but enjoyable 3 days touring with my 3 housemates who have never seen Kuching, longhouses, human skulls or anything like that in their whole entire lives.
Then again, pictures paint a bigger story, so *teng teng teng teng*!! Presenting to you...
Kuching, Sarawak

It's the first thing you see when you turn out of airport road :)

Started off with Padungan - Kuching's very own Chinatown!

The famous wave by the Padungan Cat With Ugly Whiskers.

More cat statues!

Walk down Waterfront Kuching.

Fort Margherita from across river. Fancy a boat ride?

Astana. No idea who lives there now.. hehe but it's off limits.

The pagoda. Normally you can climb up to get a better view, but currently it's closed :(

I think it's the old Sarawak Steamship Building.

One of the fountains at Waterfront.

Old Courthouse - where the Malaysian Idol auditions were held.

Sarawak Museum, the old wing. No cameras allowed inside :(

Aquarium and mini zoo behind the Museum.

Statue with boobies outside the aquarium.

Heroes' Memorial Park beside the Museum.

Native totem pole behind the Museum's new wing.

Native art.
Sarawak Cultural Village
Tourists: RM45
Local dudes: RM22+
Students: RM10 (big difference man!)
After getting lost for about almost an hour in the jam and trying to get to Satok, we finally made it to SCV! Just in the nick of time for the morning Cultural Show and a long walk later.

Entrance to Sarawak Cultural Village.

Bidayuh Longhouse

The Common Hall... where they have skulls tied to the ceiling.. and skulls everywhere.. lol :P

There... a skull altar :) They're pretty old actually, dated back to the headhunting days.

Bamboo bridge to the Bidayuh Longhouse.. damn I'm afraid of heights! o_O

Lady making kuih jala in the Iban Longhouse.

The Penan Hut. Ey.. that Penan fella got handphone one you know! Modern nyer...

Orang Ulu Longhouse build between the trees on a cliff... it's really, really, REALLY tall!!

Bummin' on the log steps.

Ancient native shields.

Gongs and urm... can't remember what are those stuff..

The Orang Ulu uncle and the musical instruments, sape (sorta like guitar) and the bamboo thingy...forgot what it's called.

Melanau Tallhouse.

Pretty sticks with charms outside the Melanau Longhouse.

The Healing Hall.

Long totem pole outside.

Cute stone sculptures.

Opening dance at the Cultural Show in the theatre.

I think this is the Iban dance.. yup.

Holding that wood thingy in his mouth...freaky isn't it? lol :P

Orang Ulu guy preparing to sumpit the audience with his blowpipe.

Welcome!! Hehe took that when we were leaving.
Damai Lagoon

Scorching hot afternoon at the beach.

We ventured out to the rocky area to take pictures! Haha how weird.
Whew! That was tiring. Loads more pictures.. the dances, Padawan, kampung longhouse.. bla bla bla.. will post up some more later and a link to my photoblog.. hehe :)
